Privacy Policy
TALON Ground School ("TALON," "we," "the app") is an unofficial T‑38C ground‑school study aid maintained by 2LT Matthew Moniz. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account details you or your administrator provide: username (callsign), display name, rank, squadron, and training status.
- Authentication data: a securely hashed form of your password (PBKDF2‑SHA256 with a unique salt — we never store or see your actual password), plus sign‑in metadata such as your most recent login time and failed‑attempt counts used for lockout protection.
- Learning activity: your study and quiz progress, concept mastery, attempt history, accuracy, and time spent in the app.
- Feedback you choose to submit, and the screen it was sent from.
We do not collect your email address, payment information, precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use third‑party advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
To run the app and save your progress across devices; to show you your own performance; to let your training administrators review usage and progress for instructional oversight; and to respond to feedback you send.
Administrator visibility
Because TALON is a training tool, designated administrators (training staff) can see registered users along with their progress, performance, time on platform, and last‑login activity. Administrators cannot see your password.
How it is stored and protected
Data is stored using Cloudflare (Pages and the D1 database). Traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access is limited to the app and its administrators.
Sharing
We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for advertising. We rely on Cloudflare as our hosting and storage provider. We may disclose information if required by law or applicable military regulation.
Retention and your choices
We keep your account and progress while your account is active. You can reset your own learning progress at any time using Fresh start in the app.
Account deletion
To permanently delete your account and all associated data (progress, performance, and feedback), email matt@climb7.com or ask your administrator. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by reply. See the Support page for details.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change when we do.
